As you browse through these different price ranges, you may notice that some flutes with less silver content are actually more expensive than others with more silver content. This is due to many factors including:

Some flutes with more silver are actually designed for less experienced players. The silver adds to tone quality and the embochure aids in easier tone production

Some flutes with less silver are designed for more experienced players and have more options or higher quality pads, springs, etc. Embochure may add more flexibility in tone production and color variation for more advanced players.

Different manufacturers have different pricing schedules.
